Turkish Flat Steel Prices Fall Under Import Pressure

Turkish flat steel prices came under greater downward pressure on October 19–20, 2026, as increased import competition weighed on producer offers, according to SteelRadar. Hot-rolled coil (HRC) offers fell to $620–635 per metric ton, while cold-rolled coil (CRC) offers declined to $725–740 per metric ton. Galvanized coil prices dropped to $830–860 per metric ton.

The declines across all three products suggest that import pressure is affecting several segments of the flat steel market. For domestic producers, more competitive imported material could make it harder to maintain offers, particularly where buyers can choose between domestic and imported supply.

For buyers, lower offers may create room to negotiate upcoming purchases. The practical advantage will depend on how domestic and imported options compare on total delivered cost, delivery timing and product requirements. A lower headline price alone does not establish which option offers the better purchasing outcome.

The reported ranges describe producer offers rather than confirmed transaction prices. They indicate a weakening pricing environment, but do not establish the size of the decline from earlier levels or how far sellers will ultimately adjust prices to secure orders.

The next development to watch is whether lower offers translate into completed sales and whether import competition continues to prompt further adjustments. Sustained pressure could lead buyers to seek additional concessions; firmer transaction prices would suggest that producers are finding support near the revised offer levels.
